
French Apple Pie
Ingredients:
1 prepared piecrust
5 Golden delicious apples – washed, peeled, cored, sliced 1/8” thick
½ C tart seedless cherries – well drained
½ C peaches – thinly sliced and well drained
1/3 C raisins
¾ C sugar
3 Tb flour
1 ts cinnamon
1/8 ts nutmeg
dash salt
2 Tb lemon juice
Preheat oven to 400 F. Fit piecrust into a 9” pie plate. Splash apples with lemon juice, toss. Mix all dry ingredients together, add to apples and toss. Add cherries, peaches and lightly toss. Pour fruit into piecrust and bake 15 minutes.
While baking, mix crumbled topping:
1/3 C sugar
¾ C flour
6 Tb butter – chilled
Mix together till crumbly. Spread over top of pie and bake an additional 35 minutes. If pie is getting too dark, place a sheet of foil over top. Cool pie completely.
Glaze
¼ C powdered sugar, add milk or cream a bit at a time to get the consistency you desire. Drizzle glaze over pie.
